Question 1: Are 1 Minute Daily Power Thoughts quotes, or affirmations? Answer: They’re neither. They could be used as affirmations, but they are simple ideas to promote thought. Many of us just accept our thoughts without question. 1 Minute Daily Power Thoughts are a way to get us to consider our thoughts and whether they are actually helpful to us in life, or whether perhaps we should change them for something more helpful to us instead. Question 2: So, how do we change our thoughts? Answer: It takes time and practice, just like any skill. First, you need to recognise a thought that isn’t helping you, and second, you make a conscious effort to change it by replacing it with a helpful thought. Do this enough times and you will gradually adopt the new thought as your own. Question 3: Who are your favourite writers? Answer: First, Wallace D Wattles, the author of The Science of Getting Rich. It’s a really deep and thought-provoking book. I’ve read it several times and listened to the audiobook hundreds of times. Second, Dale Carnegie, the author of How to Win Friends and Influence People. He has a way of explaining things that makes you say, duh, that’s so obvious, yet I didn’t see it until now! Question 4: Where do you get your ideas? Answer: From life and the experiences it brings me. I’ve been a raving fan of self-help books and self improvement for over 40 years. I didn’t need any professional qualifications or a PhD to write this book; it’s all just common sense, really. Question 5: Should I start at the beginning and read just 1 page-a-day? Answer: You can start at the beginning, the middle, or the end; it doesn’t matter. You can cherry pick your way through the book, or just open a page at random and read it. I suggest reading a single page-a-day because the whole point is to read and then think about what you’ve read and how it relates to you and your life. Question 6: Which 1 Minute Daily Power Thought is your personal favourite? Answer: Oh, that’s easy. “Day 60; You have just made my day by reading this. Thank you.” That’s because I mean it. Being able to help others is one of the greatest pleasures of my life. Question 7: Who is the book for? Answer: Anyone who wants to be happier and more fulfilled in life on their own terms. Question 8: What is your favourite quote of all time? Answer: “The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” ~ Steve Jobs Question 9: Who are your heroes? Answer: Sir Lewis Hamilton, Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking. All three of them have never had any respect for the word “impossible”. Question 10: If you could give everyone on the planet a single piece of advice, what would it be? Answer: Lighten up a huge amount and take life much less seriously. Yes, there are sometimes serious things to be done, but when there aren’t, let your hair down, have fun, laugh and experience joy; lots of it!
