AI Copywriting for Home-Based Businesses: What You Need to Know

Apr 17 / Steve Bunyan
AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the new kid on the block, and everyone’s talking about it. AI is revolutionising the way we work, and as a result, businesses are exploring new ways to integrate it into their daily routines. One way home-based businesses like yours and mine can benefit from AI is by using it to write copy (text). However, I have questions about how beneficial and effective it is. In this blog post, we’ll explore three questions I have about using AI for writing copy.

  1. How can home-based businesses best use AI copywriting to get more work done in less time?
  2. Which AI copywriting tools are best suited to a home-based business, and why?
  3. What effects will AI-written copy have on your search engine optimisation?

1. How can home-based businesses best use AI copywriting to get more work done in less time?

One of the biggest advantages of AI copywriting is its ability to save time. With AI, we can now write copy faster than ever before. For home-based businesses (that often comprise just one or two people juggling multiple roles and tasks), this writing revolution can be very welcome. AI copywriting can generate blog posts, product descriptions, website content, marketing emails, advertising copy, and much, much more, all without breaking a sweat! Not only can AI save you time, but it can also make it easier to scale your home-based business too. As your business grows, your workload increases, and AI can help ease some of the pressure that extra workload creates.

I’ve tested several AI copywriting tools and they’re all pretty good at generating copy. They’re fast, accurate and can make that dreaded, "staring at a blank page" syndrome, a thing of the past. But remember, for writing copy, AI is not a panacea. If you want to generate high-quality content, AI can’t substitute for real human input, and nor should you want or expect it to. It’s a starting point. Use it to give you an outline, or a first draft, and then use your human skills to improve it. Why do I say that? For two reasons: 1. Your human input will convey your passion, your depth-of-knowledge, and a personal touch AI can’t match. 2. Some say that search engines can detect AI-written content and if that’s true, your human input will make an enormous difference.

Google, in particular, aims to provide its users (people searching for something) with the best quality responses their algorithm can find; it always has.

2. Which AI copywriting tools are best suited to a home-based business, and why?

There are several AI copywriting tools on the market, and it’s confusing to determine which one is the best fit for your business. Before investing in any tool, it’s important to consider your business’s needs. For instance, some AI copywriting tools focus on SEO optimisation, while others are more geared towards crafting social media posts or product descriptions. You should choose tools that align with your specific business goals and objectives.

Here are a few AI copywriting tools for you to research:

Always remember to do your own research. Choose AI copywriting tools that are a good fit for you, your business, and your budget.

3. What effects will AI-written copy have on your search engine optimisation?

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is a critical part of digital marketing and digital marketing is a core skill for any home-based business. The question many are asking is, “How will AI-written copy affect my SEO?” The answer is, “It depends on the quality of your content.” Is it 100% AI generated, or has there been some human input too? If the content you've created is of high quality and relevant, it will have a positive effect on your SEO. However, if your content is of inferior quality, spammy, or irrelevant, it can harm your SEO efforts. The key is to ensure the content you've created is of high quality, provides value for your readers and aligns with your business goals.

My Conclusions

In conclusion, AI copywriting has the potential to revolutionise how we write copy. Whether small or large, businesses can benefit from using AI to write content. However, it’s important to choose AI copywriting tools that align with your business goals and objectives. You should always ensure that all your content is of high-quality and SEO-optimised, and this demands human input. By doing so, you can reap the benefits of AI copywriting and take your home-based business to the next level.
